The creation of a modern, state-of-the-art shopping centre requires large quantities of high quality materials. Ropewalk is constructed from:

• 1,700 tonnes of structural steelwork

• 460 tonnes of reinforcement steel

• 390,000 bricks

• 85,000 concrete blocks

• 10,560 tonnes of concrete

• 1,200m² of Terracotta cladding

• 2,700m² of ceramic floor tiles

Ropewalk provides 205,000 square feet of retail space, which is equivalent to almost five football pitches of top quality shopping.

It has its own multi-storey car park boasting 525 spaces.

Ropewalk was opened on the 1st September 2005 and cost £70 million to develop.
